All our staff are qualified in Early Years at Level 3 or above and bring a wealth of experience and interests to the setting. We hope that you also find them to be friendly and approachable. We are extremely proud to have built a caring and dedicated team who are passionate about ensuring every child has an enriching time here at Phoenix.
Manager – Jasmin Walker
Jasmin has worked in Early Years education since 2010 and joined Phoenix in 2015. She has completed her Level 3 qualification as well as a wide range of professional development courses including SENCO, extended safeguarding awareness, Paediatric First Aid, Forest School…. to name a few!
Deputy Manager – Shirelle Pugh
Shirelle has worked at Phoenix since 2009 and has recently been promoted to deputy manager. She holds Level 3 qualification, up to date paediatric first aid, food safety and safeguarding and is also our SENCO. Shirelle works in all areas of Phoenix, including the under-3’s groups.
Office Manager – Claire Witter
Phoenix is managed by a committee of parent volunteers who are the trustees of the charity and who volunteer their time to ensure that Phoenix is run properly.
Members are elected by parents of the children who attend Phoenix Under Fives at an Annual General Meeting (AGM), which usually takes place in the Autumn Term. The AGM is open to all parents and staff to attend and is an opportunity to reflect on the previous years activities and share plans for the year ahead.

Employing and managing our staff;
Making sure that we have – and adhere to – policies that help sustain a high standard of care.
Making sure that we work in partnership with parents.
